The State Key Laboratory of Food Nutrition and Safety was officially approved

       On December 14, 2017, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Tianjin Municipal People's Government jointly issued the “Circular on Approval of the Construction of the State Key Laboratory of Food Nutrition and Safety ” , which was formally approved the construction of the State Key Laboratory of Food Nutrition and Safety. 

        In 2013, the Ministry of Science and Technology initiated the construction of the State Key Laboratory of Joint Construction. The State Key Laboratory, jointly established by the Ministry of Science and Technology, is an important part of the State Key Laboratory System. It is an important measure for the State to strengthen the regional innovation system, enhance regional independent innovation capabilities, and strengthen basic research and applied basic research.

          This key laboratory is based in Tianjin, facing the major needs of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and the nation's food industry development, giving full play to Tianjin's location, industry and policy advantages, targeting the frontiers of discipline development, focusing on the development and innovation of food nutrition factors, and the identification of hazardous substances in foods. Major innovations and breakthroughs have been made in major basic theories and key technologies for industry and nutrition, such as nutrition and safety regulation, so as to enhance the health protection capabilities of China's food industry through continuous innovation, and lay a solid foundation for the advancement of China's food-promoting countries towards food power.
