        The key laboratory rely on traditional specialty industries such as “Food Science” and “Fermentation Engineering” of Tianjin University of Science and Technology, focusing on the cutting-edge and hot areas of research on food quality safety and food nutrition and health, and on the basis of safeguarding national health and major scientific and technological needs. Based on innovative theoretical research and promoting industrial development as the center, giving full play to Tianjin’s advantages as an important food industry base in China, concisely forms the evaluation of food nutrition mechanism and function, the identification mechanism and risk assessment of hazardous substances in foods, and nutrition during processing and manufacturing processes. Three research directions of safety regulation mechanism.
          The key laboratory in the future will continue to be based in Tianjin, face the major needs of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and the nation's food industry development, give full play to Tianjin's location, industry, and policy advantages, aim at cutting-edge discipline development, and focus on the development and innovation of food nutrition factors, and food hazards. Innovative research has been carried out on key fundamental theories such as material identification, nutrition and safety regulation, and key technologies for industrial commonality, so as to enhance China's food industry health protection capabilities through continuous innovation, and lay a solid foundation for advancing China's transition from a food-rich country to a food-powerful country.
